The Nakba: LCA Open Discussion with Donna Nevel

June 18 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
The Nakba, meaning catastrophe in Arabic, refers to the violent displacement and expulsion of 750,000 Indigenous Palestinians from their land and homes before and during Israel’s establishment in 1948–a destruction that continues to this day through expulsion and genocide. The workshop includes visuals, testimonies, archives, and text from before and during the Nakba. The Nakba curriculum was created by Project48 and PARCEO.
Donna Nevel, a community psychologist and educator,  is co-director of PARCEO,  a research and education center. She is a member of Jewish Voice for Peace South Florida and the South Florida Coalition for Palestine and is a long-time organizer for justice.
